This autumn I will be returning to Central Saint Martins College of Art and Design (where I completed my undergrad degree in 2009) as an associate lecturer. I will be part of a team of academics hosting a series of lectures and seminars to second-year BA students in fashion, textile, and jewellery. Each tutor is responsible for at least one lecture. My lecture day is entitled Can fashion be sustainable? and focuses on ethical issues in modern fashion production and its relationship to how fashion is marketed and consumed. In addition, I will be running two weekly seminars for a group of 30 students each, where we will be discussing, analysing, debating the issues raised by that week’s lecturer. At the end of term students produce a 2,000 word long essay which I will grade.
More updates on this to follow. Very excited!
