For the third year running, I will be responsible for a module on Postmodern critical theory and visual culture at the University for the Creative Arts, Epsom. The module is attended by 2nd year BA students.
“The aim of this unit is to familiarise students with the key ideas and debates around Postmodernism, through key texts and visual examples. Post-modernity will be explored through analysing fashion and consumer culture, the city space, architecture, film, music videos, product design and art from 1970 to the present.”

At the end of term, the students produce a 2,500 word essay which I access.

Key Theories:
Hyperreality & Simulation
Gender & Queer Studies
Consumerism & Identity
Subcultural Studies
+ Postmodern Design Strategies and Social History.
